Managing IT with a Digital Twin: Three New Features in DC Vision Make Infrastructure Management Even More Efficient

Ottweiler/Frankfurt, 26.5.25 – Just in time for Data Centre World in Frankfurt, DC Smarter is introducing three new features of its AI-based software DC Vision®: Network cables can now be visualized in the digital twin, racks can be added digitally first and then physically captured, and the service status of DCIM, AI, and infrastructure services is now displayed in real time.

Having up-to-date information is essential for protecting IT infrastructure. IT managers must act quickly both in the event of IT system failures caused by defects or external attacks; simply knowing the logical structure of the network is not enough; the precise physical location of every installed system must be instantly accessible. With the ‘Network cable documentation’ feature, individual network cables can now also be captured via the digital twin and precisely localised later. DC Vision improves the cable infrastructure documentation and simplifies maintenance.

A reverse approach is used in the newly added feature "Rack Creation and Room Placement". With DC Vision, users can first create a digital rack and virtually place it in the appropriate room. Physical labels can then be printed to mark the rack components on-site. This allows newly added IT systems to be put into operation easily and securely. Consistency between the digital twin and physical reality is always maintained.

Additionally, DC Vision now includes a complete status overview of all DCIM, AI and backend services in real-time. If any action is needed, the software will display it immediately. The overall reliability of the solution is enhanced, as outages become visible more quickly, giving the team more time to resolve the issue.

All new features are now implemented in the DC Vision platform and are available to all customers without additional cost.
